DESCRIPTION:angr is a framework for analyzing binaries\, it is so powerfu
l it was also deployed successfully during the DARPA Grand Cyber Challen
ge\, and regularly during various CTFs. It allows you to efficiently exp
lore binaries and exploit them wherever possible. I'm gonna show you aro
und and demo some exploits.

DESCRIPTION:Zero-day exploits targeting browsers are usually very short-l
ived. These zero-days are actively gathered and analyzed by security res
earchers. Whenever a new 0-day becomes known by the security industry\,
protections against the exploit are shared\, AV/IDS signatures are made\
, patches are deployed\, and the precious 0-day loses its value. One exa
mple is when Ahmed Mansoor was targeted by an iOS 0-day exploit (August
2016). The Citizen Lab analyzed the 0-day exploit\, and Apple patched th
e vulnerability within days (http://bit.ly/2bm8ueo). Whoever targeted Ma
nsoor\, lost a precious 0-day exploit worth hundreds of thousands of dol
lars. \nIn my research\, I propose a solution for law enforcement\, 0-da
y brokers\, and advanced attackers to protect their browser exploits. Th
e key step is to establish key agreement between the exploit server and
the victim browser. After a shared key is set up\, attackers can encrypt
the real exploit with AES. It is recommended to encrypt both the code t
o trigger the exploit\, and the shellcode. This idea was first published
by me (http://bit.ly/2mnvfYE)\, and quickly adopted by exploit kit deve
lopers in-the-wild. \nDuring my presentation\, I will propose solutions
for defenders to analyze these attacks\, countermeasures for attackers t
o further complicate this kind of analysis and release a POC Ruby code w
hich can be integrated into Metasploit. So far\, no encrypted browser ex
ploit delivery code is available in the public to test or implement thes
e attacks.\nIn addition to protecting the 0-day exploits from analysis\,
my proposed solution is also able to stay under the radar in IDS system
s or Next Generation IDS systems (a.k.a. breach detection systems\, APT
detection systems). This is aligned with the trend that perimeter securi
ty is becoming less effective due to mobile devices and the increasing n
umber of encrypted channels.\n

DESCRIPTION:Cryptographic keys are interesting creatures in the memory\,
but sooner or later\, they have to be serialized on some storage device.
But as xkcd 927 taught us\, we have way many standards for this\, and m
ost tools and humans only know/accept a subset of these. This talk will
try to help hackers understand the differences along with the similariti
es that help them convert from any format to the desired one.

DESCRIPTION:Computers changed over the last 20 years\, from friendly mach
ines we could understand\, control and improve upon to black-boxed priso
ns designed at spying upon and controlling us. How come we are now an in
creasing number to *hate* these machines\, when we remember a past in wh
ich we used to passionately love them? This shift of modern computing to
wards "enemy machines" has a profound impact on geopolitics (think "Trum
p's NSA")\, on power relationships (think "We know what you did online f
or the last 15 years") but also on our humanities and the way we learn\,
share and relate to each other. How to rethink our relationship to mach
ines\, how to rebuild trust in computers that could efficiently enable a
nd protect us? What is probably one of the biggest challenges for Humani
ty can only be solved with love and the joy of sharing!
